More information: Marillion’s third and commercially most successful studio album was Misplaced Childhood, which had a more mainstream sound than their previous records. The lead single, ‘Kayleigh’, received major promotion by EMI and gained heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1 and other radio stations as well as television appearances, bringing the band to the attention of a much wider audience.
In the summer of 1986, the band played to their biggest ever audience as special guests of Queen at the Open-Air festival in Mannheim, Germany, attended by a crowd of over 150,000 people. Performing a stunning set, Marillion came of age at this show, and have remained a quite remarkable live attraction ever since.
The entire festival was broadcast live on German radio and TV, and this new CD now includes Marillion’s entire performance from this event.
Note: Recording quality can vary on FM broadcast releases.
